Some of New Zealand's best fishing right on our doorstep

Steeped in fly fishing history, the lodge was originally built for this very purpose in 1989.

Enjoy single or multi-day fly fishing experiences with our local professional guides. The Lodge enjoys a river frontage that offers easy access to the Motueka River, one of New Zealand's best fishing for brown trout. In addition, there are numerous wonderful tributaries and high country spots close to the lodge that our guides will share.

Book early to secure the best guides and also to make sure we have adequate equipment on hand for your fishing experience.

Organic Garden & Vineyard

Our country lodge boasts a charming boutique vineyard and expansive potager garden, evoking the elegance of historic gardens with river stone-retained terraces.

Fruit trees scattered across the property offer a diverse range of fresh fruits throughout the growing seasons. We diligently maintain our organic vegetable garden to provide highly nutritious produce for our guests and ourselves to savor.

As guests arrive, they are welcomed by our vineyard, featuring sought-after older Chardonnay varieties managed by a local well known vinter Abel Wines, allowing for a unique tasting experience each year.

The lodge’s dining and drinking experiences are enriched by the plentiful and diverse produce from our grounds and the surrounding Tasman region of New Zealand.

Helipad Access
& Transport Services

The lodge property has a convenient helipad area a short walk from the lodge where our helicopter flying partners can land to collect guests for daily outings or onward travel.

We help you see as much of the region as possible - working with you and local partners we can also tailor your day, perhaps a bike ride in the morning, a sailing adventure and lunch on board into the Abel Tasman National Park in the afternoon and maybe a helicopter ride across the Kahurangi mountain ranges on the way home to the lodge. Please let us know early how we can make your time incredible during your stay.

Renting a car gives you the maximum flexibility to see the Tasman and Golden Bay regions, to stop where you wish, and of course drive across the rest of New Zealand. But many of our local service providers that enable your day of hiking, kayaking, boating, or helicopter rides can also provide pick up/drop off services where possible.
